Evidence is growing that HIV virus (Human Immunodeficiency Virus Virus) can infect the mucosal immune system.
In a survey conducted March 19 of 1,208 international travelers by 1st-Air.net — which specializes in international discounted premium-class travel between North America and Europe and Asia — 22.1 percent say that SARS syndrome (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Syndrome) would affect their decision to travel; 10 percent say “terrorism concerns” have changed their “purchase patterns” over the past year, and 48.6 percent say they will increase the number of international trips they make in 2003.
